How Is Root Canal Retreatment Performed?
During root canal retreatment, Dr. Weinacker will reopen the tooth, remove the old filling materials, and carefully examine the root canals for hidden infection, missed anatomy, or new decay. The canals are then cleaned, reshaped, and disinfected to remove bacteria and create the best possible seal. Fresh filling material is placed inside the canals, and the tooth is sealed again to protect it from future infection. In many cases, a new crown may also be recommended to strengthen and restore the tooth. The length of treatment varies depending on the complexity of the tooth, but most retreatments take about 1 – 2 hours, and in some cases may require more than one appointment to ensure the tooth is thoroughly treated.

I chose not to use the gas for my most recent root canal. I was so nervous, but Chloe came in the room and was so sweet and bubbly that I soon forgot my nervousness. My visit went great, I will always recommend Dr. Weinaker and his amazing staff.
